Demacia vs Piltover - March 31st

Even game ends with Science Prevailing over Justice

Vi and Ziggs carry late as Piltover sends Demacia to 1-2 on the weekend.

Team Compositions:

Demacia | Piltover

Top Lane - Quinn (Lu Bu IV) | Rumble (Sindair)
Jungle -      Jarvan IV (Rhussian | Vi (fuffychan)
Mid Lane - Lux (Rammasaur) | Ziggs (Snicklfrits)
AD Carry - Vayne (Archiplex) | Caitlyn (Rocky)
Support -    Sona (CupcakeTrap) | Janna (Mogidishu)

Pre-Game Analysis: The addition of Quinn to Demacia's line-up now brings a very interesting dynamic to the game, with essentially two AD Carries in the game, damage was not at a premium for this iteration. At the same time, Piltover had its fair share of damage from the rare double AP composition, and with great initiations from Rumble and Vi, this would be a very tough matchup for both sides.

The early game was slightly aggressive, a mix of yesterday's action from hyper aggression and a game where the first blood came over 10 minutes in. Around the 3:30 mark, Vi finally made her entrance to the game, coordinating a great gank onto Lux with Ziggs' support, giving the Piltover side first blood. Jarvan IV, not taking the gank lightly, quickly took to the offensive, waiting for his mid lane to respawn before diving onto Ziggs and evening up the score again.

As the game progressed, Jarvan continued to pressure the mid lane, this time scoring the kill on Ziggs after the DEMACIA shouts went out, and Vi could not pull out the counter. As the game started nearing the 10 minute mark, Piltover had a slight advantage in CS, and pushed slightly ahead as Caitlyn would nail Sona with the Ace in the Hole. Quickly recovering, Demacia once again counter-ganked, scoring a kill in top lane with Quinn onto Rumble (noting that Rumble did not have any armor at the time, a very interesting start against such a strong early laner in Quinn/Valor), and a gank onto Janna in the bottom pushed Demacia back towards even.

Piltover again made the first move, this time Vi moving towards the bottom lane and quickly takes out Jarvan IV and Vayne before being sniped by Lux, who was then almost countered by a Mega Inferno Bomb from Ziggs. Moving on, Vi would then gank Quinn, who somehow pulled out the kill on Rumble before being killed by Vi. Meanwhile in the bottom lane, Vayne started to push her later game dominance to grab another kill on Caitlyn. Around the 17:40 mark, fuffychan continued his dominance with the Piltover Enforcer, grabbing her 5th kill of the game, again on Lux. Around this time, Caitlyn began to use her long range to poke down the first turret of the game in Piltovers favor.

Moving into the later stage of the game, kills came quickly. Almost everybody on both teams died in succession in small skirmishes around the map, and left Piltover with a meager 1k advantage overall, pushed slightly farther by the first dragon at 24:55 by Piltover, slightly hindered by the top turret for Piltover falling to a combo of Quinn/Jarvan. A fight in mid after the dragon dance allows for a double kill to Vayne, pushing the fight back for Demacia. After trading the outer mid turrets, a perfectly placed Cataclysm by Jarvan allowed Lux to land Final Spark on nearly every member of the Piltover Patriots, securing a Quadra Kill for Lux and the inner mid turret for Demacia.

However, the late game surge that Piltover would have with items became very apparent as the game slid out of Demacia's hands. After the mid turret loss, Piltover would rush back and counter with 3 kills to pull the game even at 31 minutes. A second dragon dance led to another Piltover snag and 3 kills again, but a double kill by Lux stopped any major advance. Demacia's fatal flaw was trying to force a fight on the inner top turret of Piltover, where they were caught by every ult that the scientists could throw at the Demacians, Acing them under their own turret and turning a 3,000 gold advantage on it's heels, acing Demacia again a few minutes later and securing baron at 39:20. The power turned on for Piltover, turning baron into a slew of advantages and objectives for the Patriots, and a triple kill in the Demacian base for Ziggs sealed the deal. The scientists of Piltover ended the game at 45 minutes, very well played by both teams.

Final Scores will be updated when I recieve VOD's. Could not record at time of writing.

MVP for the Match: fuffychan on Vi and Snicklfrits on Ziggs (Piltover)

For the majority of this game, Vi and Ziggs constantly roamed the map looking for kills, and they were rewarded heavily for it. Vi ended the laning phase with 5 kills for Piltover, and Ziggs showed his real colors later in the game with a slew of multi-kills. Both champions were played extremely well and in a game with little crowd control on their side, Vi made great use of Assault and Battery to give Piltover the edge near the end of the game.
